About Our Firm

Patent Monetization Inc is a full service International patent brokerage firm working primarily with clients who are looking to monetize core and non-core patent and IP assets in the technology and cleantech sectors.

Today, the market for patent and IP acquisition and consolidation is extremely high. Patent Monetization Inc aims to leverage it experience and presence in the technology patent industry to transform the way patent acquisition and strategy is conducted. We see an enormous and rapidly growing opportunity in patent and IP monetization which due to recent events is becoming a mature and savvy market. As patents and IP become more and more essential in the market place, these assets become increasingly valuable, and we understand and have the experience and creativity to monetize them.

Patent Monetization Inc has created a unique patent brokerage service leveraging diverse experience to help clients quickly monetize their IP and generate additional cash flow for the business. Patent Monetization Inc's co founders include; Michael Cannata, recognized as one of the world's leading IP Strategists by Intellectual Asset Magazine and Loudon Owen a seasoned Venture Capitalist and IP expert. Combining years of experience in patent licensing, patent litigation and extensive contacts with patent buyers, Patent Monetization Inc. leverages sophisticated patent analysis technology and proven marketing techniques to find and access strategic buyers with unparalleled depth. Through this unique process we can identify the best possible candidates to purchase your IP and we help build the business case for them to purchase the assets. This is a key differentiator and results in shorter transaction periods, higher quality prospects and maximum value for your IP assets.

As the number of acquisitive buyers keeps growing rapidly in the market, you may consider selling non-core patent assets that have resulted from:

  • Changes to your business strategy
  • The existence of a non strategic patent portfolio from an acquisition
  • An R&D project that has lost internal sponsorship or funding
  • An innovation that was an offshoot of a core invention
  • An invention that has application in fields of use that are not in your mainstream market
  • A reluctance to pay the ongoing patent maintenance fees in various jurisdictions around the world

There are many variations on capitalizing on your patents. You may consider selling core patent assets while retaining a license to use the intellectual property so that you can effectively raise capital and continue to operate unencumbered in the market.
